Feng Shui for a Successful Future

The Ancient Chinese Art of feng shui has been practiced for thousands of years–some say for 5,000 years! Of course, it has changed and evolved over time. Applying the principles of feng shui to our offices is a popular topic. I have had many requests for feng shui consultations in businesses and offices this year. feng shui can play an important role in our workspaces. We need to have an environment that supports and encourages our businesses to be successful. It is important to address the energy of our work places to ensure success in our career. It doesn’t matter if we work in an office or if we work out of our home. We want our work area to be filled with healthy energy that motivates and inspires us to success.

The first thing we want to address in our office is the position of the desk. We look for a commanding position or what we call the power position. The power position is when we have a solid wall behind us and a view of the doorway, but are not in direct line of the entryway. This placement will ensure that we have the stability of a wall behind us, at the same time we will be aware when someone enters our workspace. Having the proper position of our desk will give us the confidence and energy to perform our work effectively. It can be as simple as having our desk in the power position, which makes all the difference in our workspace.

Next, you want to surround yourself with items and artwork that will instill success, confidence and inspiration. Your office is the perfect place to display objects of achievement. You want to hang up those certificates, awards or that special acknowledgment, to let your clients know of your expertise and your area of specialization. Your office should reflect your industry. If you are in the financial field, you want to have images of wealth and money, to let your clients know you are serious about investing their money. Maybe your area of expertise is in the health and wellness industry. Try to incorporate pictures of a healthy and vibrant lifestyle. On the other hand, maybe your business is more creative such as a writer, hair stylist or an artist. You want to have lots of color and whimsical items that portray your ability to create masterpieces.

Lastly, try to incorporate plants in our work area. Plants are a powerful tool in bringing balance to any space. However, they are especially effective in our offices. We are surrounded by many different electronic devices, and plants help to neutralize the electromagnet field associated with these devices. There are many sharp corners in our offices as well, and plants help to soften those harsh edges. Plants clean the air and revitalize the feel of any workspace. However, if you’re looking for the fastest possible route to success with Feng Shui–especially as a professional–Feng Shui courses and certification may be a wise choice and get education from Feng Shui Schools. They are a great away to add a piece of nature to our offices. When we have a part of nature in our indoor environments, it helps us to feel balanced, calm and healthy.

finding Miss Daisy’s missing penis

Spot a lady and win a Mini Cooper but this seemed very unlikely because the men in town only drove Ford 250 and Dodge SUV hard bodies on our main road. These girls were a rare sight and when they were spotted their very peculiarity actually became unnoticed in that they actually helped us with the chores that were delegated to boys or young men. Fathers went so far as to give the first born girls a boys names on the day of their birth and allowed them to play rugby with us.

This was genderless society and the whole idea of procreation was not necessary to be explained to us because when God put daddies into a deep sleep girlies hopped of the rib wagon and had their existence thanks to God and the Old testament and boys comes from the mountain starting out as baboons. They were taken to Boons Barber shop where their tales were cut off and their bodies’ shaven clean and delivered to the anticipating parents smelling of powder talk and petroleum jelly.

The little village only had a primary school and graduation meant the big old city and the hostel. Entering the city and getting registered at my new school my real awakening and education started regarding the anatomy of the woman. I started feeling an awkward hot flush feeling when I came close to girls that seemed in their multitude in this new school and a feeling of agitation bulged in my pants and disturbing thoughts of the loveliness of their lady legs. “You bloody faggot” I thought and feared hell if I could ever fancied the idea to stroke it. This was clearly an abnormal feeling because these were my mates and why in heavens sky would I like to fondle them.

One afternoon my roommates were playing cards and I joined in with them to play a game of poker.

It seemed like a normal deck of plastic coated cards but it had some picks on it. It displayed photos of naked girls. (Oh my god) What concerned me was that the girls in these pictures seemed to suffer of a condition of mall nutrition and mutilation. The ladies chests seemed inflated like the Ethiopian stomachs of kwashiorkor kids and oh golly they had no penises. Feeling highly disgusted with these vulgar pictures I dropped my pack and left straight away to the child guidance officer to report this evil.

In a fit of incredulous restraint of humour the guidance officer tried to explain to me that woman did not have penises and actually had a cavity where the penis fitted in perfectly for pleasure and procreation.

That afternoon when I left the office of the anti Christ teacher,  I needed to contend with a shattered metaphysical and epistemological universe that verged on the big question of the burning spear and the bottomless void that was to be found in the mystical space of a woman’s thighs. The island was known as Vagina plains and prospects seemed dark and uncertain.

The exploration of this intricate situation helped me to create a wonderful new perspective on gender theory and a deeper understanding of the absurd.

Importance of Being Screened

In Palm Beach County all Early Childhood/Childcare Programs are required to have developmental screenings administered to all subsidized children in their care.  In 2010, a total of 11,997 developmental screenings were sent out to childcare center that have a Rate Agreement with Family Central, Inc. “Family Central is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) agency founded in 1971.  For nearly 40 years, Family Central has played a pivotal role in the lives of South Florida families by strengthening the social, emotional and economic binds that family members have to one another, as well as to their community. Last year alone, Family Central’s vital services reached more than 130,000 South Florida clients. (Family Central)”    Family Central along with the Palm Beach County Early Learning Coalition work closely with Home Safe to distribute, oversee, and monitor developmental screening services for all children in subsidized care within Palm Beach County.  Through their valiant efforts 61% of children throughout the county were screened.  But what happens to the other 39%?  Many of those children not screened could have possibly scored at risk and because they were not screened, did not have a chance for further assessment.

But for all the good these agencies do, there is a downfall.  What we have found to be a significant problem is that the screenings are done by the parents.  Parents are most times not fully aware of the advantages of early screening for young children.  They become afraid of any stigmas or labels they assume their children will receive, or they exaggerate the answers during the screening, so that their child(ren) do not score within the risk area.  As a result, many deny consent and no screening is done on the child(ren) at all.    In conversations with other providers, the consensus seems to be, that the children would be better served if evaluated by the staff with the parents consent as part of the overall program.  If done this way, it would probably elevate the stress the parent feels for their children to “pass”.

Therefore, it is our duty as providers to educate parents on the importance of early screening.  With our help, the anxiety and fear of “failing” can be taken away, because it is not a failure, but an advantage.  What parents see as a bad result, opens the doors to so many resources that their children would not have other wise received.  Within Palm Beach County, we have some great resources for both children and parents.  It is our job as providers to reassure parents of the advantages and benefits early detection and intervention has on the future success of our young people
